------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Combat within Bad Moon Rising will be slightly different than that of regular Tier-1 role play interactions due to the heavy emphasis on story driven conflicts. That being said the majority of T1 rules will still apply when fighting someone of equal standing. This is why it is VERY important that everyone is crystal clear where they stand in the hierarchy of their group.

A basic example of how T1 combat will differ within this group is as follows:

Two vampires get into a conflict, one of them is the Master of the City and the other, even if Master, level is not. Due to the power the Master of the City holds 99% of the time he will always overpower a lesser vampire. Because of this the MotC is capable of auto-hitting their lesser. This is still held within reason due to both characters being RPC's and will also depend on the severity of the cause of said conflict.

The same applies for were-animals. An alpha, no matter the species, has earned their spot and a rogue will not simply walk into a new city and demand to challenge the leader of a pack. [From an OOC stand point. Meaning, if you haven't posted as your were animal for the mods to ensure you can properly play a were, you can not challenge an alpha. However if you have, and have been approved to play a were, you can make an almost immediate challenge IC.] That being said, if you have been appointed or are looking to be the head of a were-group that has no lead already, you better be prepared to defend your status when the situation arises. If you are not comfortable in fighting T-1 style then do not take up the position.

Humans are another area of this role play, and though weaker than almost all supernatural creatures, humans are very resourceful and are capable of overcoming their physical limitations with the aid of weaponry and experience. This being said, a human is not capable of going strength of strength against a supernatural or match speed for speed. So, if you are to fight against one you had best choose your battles wisely for there are some foes [though rare] that you will not be able combat against regardless of how much experience your RPC has acquired. So choose wisely mortal hunter.

If you have some issue with any of the above and not being able to kick everyones' ass just because you think you're the shit, this is not the group for you and the door will be your best friend. Upon entering this group you acknowledge that you are prepared to fight within the boundary of your power and rank.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

As for standard T-1 rules which also stretch into normal role play situations these are a list of the main rules that will be enforced.

No Godmodding - This rule will be closely monitored for there will be some role play characters that are inherently more powerful than others and their power will make a vast amount of difference to how they should and will be treated. An example, again, is the Master of the City being an extremely powerful vampire and one people should avoid should fucking with. If you do, whether for some self amusement or boredom there is an extremely high probability you will be instantly killed and there is very little you can do about it. DO NOT come bitching and moaning to any mod if this happens as it is your own fault. Any Master of the City or even Master level individual will also be watched to make sure they do not go over board with their own capabilities.

No Puppeteering - This rule, while very important and easily abused if not done correctly, will be falling into a slightly grey area in this role play. By this, it means older and more power creatures, be they vampires or alpha level were-animals, have the capability to force your character to act in a manner than you, yourself may not particularly wish to do. Such as an alpha forcing another were of their pack to shift without wishing to or stopping them being able to shift to their animal form at all.

The same will go for vampires whose power can also come from their age or their station within a Kiss. If you are playing a human character or a rogue vampire or even a lesser were, a Master level does have the capabilities to 'roll' a characters mind and make them do something against their will. The severity of a vampire's 'roll' will be subjected to the individual vampire's power.

Because this is a grey area though, it will normally be discussed OOC between both parties to make sure all are aware of what will happen. If you are an individual that does not like to face the consequences of your IC decision, then once again, find the door. We are all adults here and this is all for story purposes.

No Auto-Hitting - As with all the other rules, this one will be very situational and dependent on the persons involved. An alpha level were will easily be able strike one of lower standing. They are strong and faster than others of their group and will be exhibiting the most control over everyone below them. You may be able dodge a blow or two IF you are prepared but you will not be able to get away unscathed and not taking your proper punishment will also be seen as even more disrespect to your group.

Once more, just like with were-animals, vampires are extremely powerful creatures and the older one is the stronger one is. Out of most cases the Master of a City will trump all unless a very ancient vampire is present and the city is rather small. Because of this one must thread very careful around a MotC vampire for if you get on their bad side and no amount of T-1 rules will save your punk ass from some disrespectful shit.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

With all that said and done all combat interactions and most interactions in normal role play scenes where conflict occurs will be watched and judged on the merit of said scene. If someone is found overstepping their station they will be shut down and put in their place. That goes for rogues and masters alike. There will be no favoritism and if you are found to not be capable of playing the role of the species you wish, you will be asked to change to something more appropriate. Leave your egos at the door folks, no one has time to hold hands around here. This is the dark part of the forest, watch yo shit.

Neutral Territory

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Neutral
neu·tral
ˈn(y)o͞otrəl/Submit
adjective
1.not helping or supporting either side in a conflict, disagreement, etc.; impartial.

Territory
ter·ri·to·ry
ˈterəˌtôrē/Submit
noun
1.an area of land under the jurisdiction of a ruler or state.

In this roleplay there are places known as "neutral territories". To preternatural creatures these places are sacred ground that carry the same weight and reverence as the U.N. The rules for neutral ground/territory are simple and are to be understood by every creature. It should also be understood that neutral territories are predominantly areas of peace for peternaturals but humans on neutral territory both abide by the same laws and are protected by the same laws.

While on neutral territory, no alpha is above another. While they are still alpha and still commander their group, they do not bow to any other alpha even if they must still show the appropriate respect. Be aware that when an alpha steps into another's domain they must submit to that alpha's will, whether they were invited or not. To do anything otherwise is to bring war and/or consequence, and this is not the case upon neutral territory.

There should be no conflict that comes to blows on neutral territory. Once you strike, or worse, draw blood from anyone, even those of your own group, on neutral territory, that territory is ruined. It can never become neutral again and now all groups must decide on a new place to gather. For being such an inconvenience, the person to break neutrality and their group will suffer heavy discrimination from other groups, including but not limited to: being run from public venues owned or run by other peternaturals, discluded from politics, and pushed out of the town or state. It is important to note that when conflict comes to blows on neutral territory the chances of a free for all battle are extremely high. Coming to blows is seen as an act of war.

There is no reason to carry any weapon onto neutral territory, not even for humans or those supernaturals that are usually armed due to their personal proclivities. If you do not disarm in the parking lot, you will be disarmed and refusal to be disarmed is scene as an act of war. While human law supersedes preternatural law, the exception to this rule is that law enforcement can respond to calls in full gear.

NPC'ing

Per the rules, the NPC'ing of RPCs is allowed when that character needs to moved from a scene so that others may continue but it has come to the attention of the mods that NPC'ing members of any particular supernatural group can become a problem.

First, we're talking about members of a pride of lions or were-wolves and even RPIT squad members. If you're gonna NPC these kinds of characters you need to consult a mod and take into account how the society of that person functions. What one member of a group does often affects the group as a whole. So if a wolf attacks a lion it can have a ripple affect for the whole pack and vice versa. If a vampire attacked a were it can also blow back on the vampires.

If you want to use an NPC from specific group to do anything more than talk or fuck, you need to get with a mod. You can NPC members of your own group, IE a lion can NPC another lion but anything else needs to be run by a mod.

Don't be surprised if you are corrected on conversations with NPC's as well. The leaders of groups tend to lay out blanket idea for the operations of how a group works and if your interaction goes against or doesn't make sense to what they have established, they can make you correct it.

When it comes to animators/necromancers, they CAN raise murder victims, but the zombie would be useless in a case. They will for a fact, hunt down and kill who murdered them, which is great for crimes -- but they will also kill anyone who gets in their way, innocent or not. So it's not considered a safe practice.
For sake of this RP, it will not be allowed in legal raisings.

ANNOUNCEMENT!

[Info] Miscellaneous Tenor

SUPERNATURAL ETIQUETTE & PROTOCOLS

General Lycanthrope Protocols:

GREETING EACH OTHER
--It is protocol no matter what species, to greet the King/Queen before you greet other lycanthropes in a room.
--Lycanthropes are very "touchy feely", both in beast form and human form. For those who are more conservative, or attempting to disguise themselves as human, they may touch another with a simple hand hold, squeeze of the shoulder or hug. Those who are less conservative and more open may actually rub their face against someone, no matter what body part, and rub their body along the other person.

--A Group of lycanthropes will rise to their feet and stand when their King or Queen enters a room or joins them, unless otherwise told to stay where they are -- based on preference of that King or Queen, if it doesn't bother them, they won't require it unless at formal group meetings

--Rogue lycanthropes must greet a King/Queen before any other lycanthropes, but must also greet each lycanthrope in turn. They must offer a submissive stance when doing any of this. Typically, it would be tilting the head to expose  the throat, bowing the head and averting eye contact, similar to how a dog would lower themselves to a ground when confronted by an alpha dog. If a rogue lycanthrope does not greet a King/Queen, or doesn't do it submissively, it can be taken as an insult and slight of disrespect towards that person's authority, and they risk getting hurt as punishment.

--A King/Queen/alpha may greet their group members by touching.

--Kings/Queens that greet a King or Queen of another group would maintain eye contact, and touch in some way or form, a hug or a handshake. They would stand to greet each other, and seat themselves at the same time, and eat food at the same time. They would stand upon departure of the other. They would also greet the mate of that King/Queen next, with eye contact and a touch, like a handshake. Lingering touches can be taken as a sexual gesture, which can be considered offensive to the King/Queen. - this is the formal protocol, for formal meetings. Informal meetings, if the two leaders are friendly, may be as simple as a hug or smile, but no formal greeting is required.

PROTECTION PROTOCOLS
--A submissive may seek protection from another person, by requesting protection from a lycanthrope in their group or their superiors. This can be done verbally, or physically -- touch is the key here. If they choose touch, they would have to take a submissive stance and seek the touch of acceptance from that superior. IE; kneeling against the leg of that superior, if the superior member accepts the request they would place their hand upon that submissive's head, or take their hand. Another good example of seeking protection is if a submissive were running through a crowded street, being chased by aggressors, can run up to a dominant/superior of theirs, and hug them -- if the superior returns the hug, or kisses their cheek, they accept the request for protection, and will fight the aggressors and beat them down. The submissive's battles and problems become the superior's battles and problems. If they refuse the request for protection, they will push the submissive away and step back, and the submissive is on their own.

--A King/Queen is responsible for their group. If a weaker group member is in danger, they themselves can reach out to protect that person from harm, or can send a dominant member or enforcer to do it for them. They do not often tolerate the abuse or torture of a weaker member of their group, unless that member deserved it by breaking protocol or otherwise doing something bad to earn it. - example: a King/Queen won't likely protect a submissive member from getting beat up, if they assaulted a member of another group, stole something, or otherwise caused a problem for another group. They will view this as a proper punishment, but will interfere if it goes too far or goes on too long, or is life-endangering.

--A group that does not currently have a King or Queen may seek protection from another group only in situational circumstances. - example: if at a bar by themselves, a submissive wereleopard may seek protection from a dominant werelion, against a werehyena aggressor. Same touching protocol, but the protection comes from only that dominant, and may be temporary.

--A King/Queen may extend their protection to others of another species who do not have a King/Queen of their own, but its up to that person and their discretion. Their protection only lasts until another dominant of that species comes into place.

ROGUE PROTOCOLS
--Rogue lycanthropes are allowed but there are guidelines and protocols they must follow. When meeting with a King or Queen, they must not give off an aggressive aura, and should keep their head bowed, and hands visible, standing upright and still, or kneeling on the ground.

--Rogue lycanthropes do not often travel in groups larger than 2, and usually as mated pairs.

--Before entering a territory of a group (their species), the Rogue must reach out to the leader of that group, and arrange for a meeting to pay their respects, before doing any business in that territory. This will be a formal meeting, and the King or Queen of  that territory withholds the right to bring that person to meet with them in front of their entire group. If a Rogue enters and stays in a territory without seeking permission to do so from that King or Queen, they are by right, prone to being attacked, hurt, driven out by that group. If they break any laws or draw negative attention to the supernatural community in that city, they will be killed.

--A Rogue may enter a territory and at the time of meeting the King or Queen, issue a challenge for that person's position in the group. When challenged, that person must accept, otherwise they look weak to their own people. If they win, that person keeps their position, and the Rogue will be told to either leave the territory, or to join the group at the lowest level. If the Rogue wins, they take that position in the group and the other person is demoted to a normal member.

--A Rogue may enter a territory to challenge a King or Queen. This challenge is to the death.

--A Rogue may enter a territory on a "sponsorship". If a group member is willing to vouch for them and sponsor them, they may enter the territory and be presented to the King or Queen in an informal meeting. The group member is responsible for housing them and supervising them -- as well as understanding that if a Rogue causes trouble, then they are responsible and can be punished just as well.

Vampire Related Announcement!

There have been some questions raised about human servants/animal servants and master vampires. So I'll go over some information to kind of touch base on them.

1. Any vampire, no matter what age, will be able to sense the servant bond in any human/lycanthrope, if they are bonded with at least 3-4 of the marks for the vampire master that "masters" them -- it is OK per the admin team to ask in the OOC/brackets, to ask how many marks the human has with their vampire master, so that you don't make mistakes IC. If the human/lycanthrope only has 1-2 marks, NO VAMPIRE can sense that they belong to another vampire, UNLESS they attempt to mind fuck that human/lycanthrope by rolling their mind, entering their memories or otherwise mess with them using vampire powers. Example: A human/lycanthrope with only 1-2 marks of another vampire could technically get rolled with hypnosis by any vampire, however, the vampire who does it will usually witness a "aura/metaphysical figure" of the vampire master of that human, within the mind of that human/lycanthrope. Sometimes, the marks may resist the powers, and that aura may fight back or push back to help the human/lycanthrope regain themselves.

2. Once a lycanthrope begins taking the marks of a vampire master, no other vampire can take that lycanthrope for their own animal servant. Even if it is just 1 mark, or all 3 marks. Animal servants are 3 marks, human servants are 4.

3. In opposition to #2 above, any vampire that is stronger than the vampire master, may take over and make that human servant their own, if they don't have all 4 marks with the vampire master. Example: Let's say Vampire 1 is the vampire master of Human Servant 1; but Vampire Queen comes along from the Council, and decides she really likes Human Servant 1, and breaks the bonds between HS1 and V1, thus taking over as the vampire master, because the human only had 1-3 of the 4 marks. Once you receive the fourth mark, you are safe.

General Vampire Protocols:

GREETING EACH OTHER
--It is expected for any vampires entering a new territory to greet the Kiss, and identify themselves before feeding in the territory. If granted this permission, they may travel through the territory and feed as they wish, within the laws of that Kiss. If they break laws, they face punishment if not execution.

--It is not required to greet the Master of the City unless seeking to join the Kiss, otherwise, the second in command/Temoin handles the affairs. The Stalking Horse may also aid in handling these affairs.

--When a Master of the City enters an establishment or room, it is customary for those of the Kiss to bow their heads, if not bow or curtsy. Verbal greetings are acceptable as well. Ignoring the Master of the City is considered an insult.

PROTECTION PROTOCOLS

--Unlike lycanthropes, vampires do not offer their protection to weaker vampires. A weaker vampire may only receive protection from their superiors in hierarchy in the Kiss (Master of the City, Temoin or Stalking Horse) if those individuals choose to protect them. They can turn to their creator as well for help.

--Master of the City is required to protect his Kiss from threats, as well as to keep them in check.

--In regards to breaking vampire laws, no one is safe from the Master of the City, The Vampire Council or their Harlequin.

HUMAN SERVANT/ANIMAL SERVANT PROTOCOLS

--It is against the law for another vampire to attack a human servant of Master vampire, unless attacked first. If a vampire attacks a human servant without just cause (IE the human servant attacking them first), the Council may execute that vampire, or the Master of that human servant is allowed to punish the offending vampire, if granted permission by the Master of the City. Example: Let's say Vampire 1 slaps Human Servant into a wall, for no reason other than sassy attitude. Vampire 2, who is the Master of  that human servant, may go to the Master of the City [their Master], and ask for permission to punish Vampire 1. If granted permission, they can hurt Vampire 1 in the same manner that their Human Servant was hurt. Or, the Master of the City may punish them themselves.

--It is considered an insult to a Master vampire's power, if someone tries to roll their human servant, or call their animals. It is cause for a fight, so tread lightly. Example: Let's say that Vampire 1 decides to get wild with Vampire 2's human servant, and boldly tries to roll the human servant and enter their mind with tricks. This is an insult against Vampire 2, and can cause a fight. Same thing for if Vampire 1 calls the same animal as Vampire 2, if they try to call the specific animal servant of Vampire 2, causing the beast to be torn between two vampires, it is a high insult.[/color]

--It is against vampire law to feed upon a human servant or pomme de sang of another vampire, without consent of the master vampire. Feeding without consent of the victim and their Master, is considered cause for execution or severe punishment.
