Wiccan MagicSpellbound to the EarthA SynopsisWicca is a form of witchcraft where tools and knowledge are the primary
source of becoming part of the divinity; one with nature, one with thyself,
one with the unspoken energy of magick, otherwise known as magic. Wicca
is primarily spark lit, meaning you have to keep practicing, keep feeding your
flame to burn into power. Ancestral lines are not noted part of the practice but
there are many ancestral witches that forgo bloodlines to move into a Wiccan
practice.
An open practice, Wicca welcomes all. Their hard and fast beliefs in the natural
mechanics of magic; that the universe hears and provides, bars no soul from the
practice, making it the most public, most known practice of recent times. It's
deep pagan roots harken to Euro-Slavic magic but it is ages older.
Playing A WiccanWiccans are neutral practitioners. They are neither evil nor good. They believe
in balance of nature from living to death and respect all of the divinity. Wiccan
Witches see beyond the modern world, they see beyond black and white. Any
sort of ill force driving against their mental, emotional, and physical well-being
suffer consequences by three. Any selfish gain will result in consequences that
could potentially harm themselves or worse those that they hold dear. Wiccans
want peace in all living things, and in the afterworld.
Follow the 13th Principles Wicca01. We practice rites to attune ourselves with the natural rhythm of life forces
marked by the phases of the Moon and the seasonal Quarters and Cross Quarters.
02. We recognize that our intelligence gives us a unique responsibility toward
our environment. We seek to live in harmony with nature in ecological balance
offering fulfillment to life and consciousness within an evolutionary concept.
03. We acknowledge a depth of power far greater than that apparent to the
average person. Because it is far greater than ordinary it is sometimes called
“supernatural”, but we see it as lying within that which is naturally potential to all.
04. We conceive of the Creative Power in the universe as manifesting through
polarity – as masculine and feminine – and that this same Creative Power lies in
all people and functions through the interaction of the masculine and the feminine.
We value neither above the other knowing each to be supportive of the other. We
value sex as pleasure as the symbol and embodiment of life, and as one of the
sources of energy used in magical practice and religious worship.
05. We recognize both outer worlds and inner, or psychological worlds sometimes
known as the Spiritual World, the Collective Unconsciousness, the Inner Planes etc
– and we see in the interaction of these two dimensions the basis for paranormal
phenomena and magical exercises. We do not neglect one dimension for the other,
seeing as both as necessary for our fulfillment.
06. We do not recognize any authoritarian hierarchy but do honor those who teach,
respect those who share their greater knowledge and wisdom, and acknowledge
those who have courageously given of themselves in leadership.
07. We see religion, magick and wisdom in living as being united in the way one
views the world and lives within it – a worldview and philosophy of life which we
identify as Witchcraft – the Wiccan Way.
08. Calling oneself a “Witch” does not make a Witch – but neither does heredity
itself, nor the collecting of titles, degrees, and initiations. A Witch seeks to
control the forces within her/himself that make life possible in order to live wisely
and without harm to others and in harmony with nature.
09. We believe in the affirmation and fulfillment of life in a continuation of evolution
and development of consciousness giving meaning to the Universe we know and
our personal role within it.
10. Our only animosity towards Christianity, or towards any other religion or
philosophy of life, is to the extent that its institutions have claimed to be “the only
way” and have sought to deny freedom to others and to suppress other ways of
religious practice and belief.
11. As American Witches, we are not threatened by debates on the history of the
craft, the origins of various terms, the legitimacy of various aspects of different
traditions. We are concerned with our present and our future.
12. We do not accept the concept of absolute evil, nor do we worship any entity
known as “Satan” or “the Devil” as defined by Christian tradition. We do not seek
power through the suffering of others, nor accept that personal benefit can be
derived only by denial to another.
13. We believe that we should seek within Nature that which is contributory to our
health and well-being.
ClassessFolk Wicca TraditionalKnown for the old ways of magic, this class is passed down from a superior witch of a
coven, who has been taught from a former superior. It is a heavily oral tradition of
practice, based on text not seen since the birth of Christianity. Thus, it comes as
little surprise that the practitioners of this magic function in very cult-like covens.
They are private in their teachings and don't take kindly of treacherous tongues
passing on knowledge to outsiders. Typical practices are group driven and the only
text that is held in any regard is of the grimoires of witches past. Just like most
witchcraft they have the basic tools of crystals, runes, herbs, and candle use.
There are rumors of solitary Folk Wiccans. These are the individuals who fled from
the cult and remain hiding in fear. Folk Wiccans that remain solitary only remain
within practice because once you begin practicing Wicca you become tangled in the
spirit world and the divinity. The dead will speak, nature will call, and it's your job
to respond to it or you will just be a grey aura highway for spiritual energy to speed
through.
• Appearance: Since this is cult driven, it would depend on the leader of the coven to
dictate how they would dress and act from the public eye to private eye. Rituals tend
to be in robes and pointed hats. Preferably seasonal to the holiday Wiccan calendar.
• Attributes: Folk Wiccans tend to be more powerful by numbers compared to a
solitary witch. The more bodies producing energy, the stronger the spell will be.
They are very formal and extremely disciplined in the routine of rituals. All casting
and practices are by circling around and being in unison.
Herbal Wicca Green ThumbTypically singular witches with a passion of growing herbs for potions and remedies.
Wicca generally has lessons regarding common herbs but this class goes beyond and
typically are the farmers who produce the means for other Wiccan classes. They live in
isolation in the deep forest. Green witches typically coexist with wild animals and don't
believe in harming nature, but protecting it at all costs. They tend to be stronger pulling
energy from the elemental towers of fire, water, earth, and air. Groups of witches who
reside in a coven under the green thumb run green houses and farms usually on the
edge of a nearby forest or group up to become activist in protecting the forest.
• Appearance: Tend to wear what they made from natural homemade resources, have
living floral crowns and like to walk bare foot to be with nature. They often have long
hair and are known for being hippie of all witches.
• Attributes: This is the class that most solitary witches start off learning. They are the
ones who write the cook books for most witches. They tend to be less sick with the
knowledge of remedies. Potions are their strongest suit when it comes to the craft. They
have stronger bonds to mythical/supernatural creatures than others of the craft and are
quicker able to detect them.
Astrology Wicca CosmicThe cosmic craft is neither for the faint of heart nor the beginning witch. Most Wiccans
generally take five or more years to learn the tools of the craft and once they have
mastered the history and customs of the calendar then they will turn to the stars for
more complicated magic. Cosmic witches seek mastery level in celestial energy. They
read auras, and feed off of the energy around them. They are empathetic to those around
them. They follow the horoscopes, the zodiac signs, read within and outside of the
universe.
• Appearance: They wear charged crystals to ward off negative energy and often have
a slew of shirts with quotes or motivational art; clothing that speaks with purpose.
• Attributes: Spells within this craft take even the simplest of
concepts and make them extremely difficult to achieve. Once a witch begins to extend
past the bounds of her known reality something as easy as stepping out of one's body
and into the spirit replica of the same room becomes a hundred times hard. Opening
yourself up to the cosmos can take you to places beyond your comprehensions. That
said, it is not uncommon for cosmic witches to be seen as dreamers, schizophrenics,
or even empty shells of themselves. A constant pull to the worlds beyond makes it hard
for a cosmic witch to remain rooted. A cosmic witch that is well rooted is something to
fear. They are highly in tune with auras, not just of individuals but masses. The ability
to siphon this energy and twist and shape it as they feel, is theirs and they must work
doubly hard to remain neutral and true to the faith of Wicca, which demands balance.
These witches tend to be precognitive and often find their familiars in the form(s) of
spirit guides from the many avenues of the unknown that they travel so often.
Celtic Wicca HeathensCeltic Wiccans believe strongly in the Norse interpretation of Hekate. That is to say, that
Hekate took the form of a giantess, Angrboða, married Loki and became the mother of
monsters. She gave magic to the lover of Hati, her grandchild and the child of her wolf
off-spring, Fenrir. Because of this, Celtic Wiccans are often seen with the sigil of the wolf
head and the moon, and tend to be the Vargamor for wolf packs.
• Appearance: Even in modern times, they prevail with their more Viking-like style with
hand forged metal jewelry be it piercing or otherwise. They often tattoo themselves with
sigils and runic symbols. Women tend to leather clothing and "warrior" braids. Men often
sport top knots and a few braids themselves. They are the primary forges of amulets and
use runic sigils in their every day practice.
• Attributes: They practice rituals through song and chants and grand ceremonies through
the seasons. Because of their cultural connections to monsters, it is said their primary
familiars are Fey, and that they share or trade power with the creatures. Perhaps it is because,
like green witches, they are in tune with nature and often solitary, living in forests or along
shorelines, often distanced from crowded cities and the more modern world. Witches of
this craft, often hail from northern countries where the stories of Fey and Witches are
often intertwined.
