Appearance and Character ____________________________ Celestia is ordinary to say the least. Her beauty is simple yet colorful like wildflowers. Petite to the bone, curved as any other woman can appear to be, but hair white like the ash from the leftover morning embers from a late-night fire. Her lips are painted with the given season color normally in hues of rose petals. Her eyes bore the light of gray that illuminate different shades of what surrounded her. The norm of her style is from the Royalty Catholic lineage, satin robes in teal, and gold. Underneath she is painted with runes representing the symbols of her story as Freya's healing hands. ____________________________
Character Biography ____________________________ From Sweden came the Warband of Hávarðr, a small but lethal tribe of Vikings, and with it came a shield maiden named Inkerri Hávarðrsdottir. She was a renowned shield-maiden, whose stories foretold that her last great battle would see her in the halls of Valhalla as one of Freya's Valkyrie. On the last month of harvest, the Hávarðr tribe sailed to the south for one last gathering before the winter came. Thor did not grant safe passage, for he and his hammer brought the tides of uncertainty. They were cast to the shores of Wessex, where Inkerri found a reason for her heart to beat once more, not for bloodshed, but for a man named Æthelwulf I, King of Wessex. Their love brought peace between the two families and with it came the conceiving of the only child Inkerri held to term. The shield-maiden had previously been married. The husband she was betrothed to granted her three pregnancies, none of which were carried to term. After the third, they divorced and Inkerri prowess in battle doubled. The hollowness she felt from the loss made her a demon who sent many men to Valhalla. That hollowness was then channeled into her love for Æthelwulf and finally into the protectiveness of her daughter. Celestia Æthelwulfsdottir was born on the hottest day of Sólmánuður. It is said that on this day Freya brought the rain to the land of wilted flowers from the first outcry baby Celestia gave upon the new world. It was a sign to her mother, who endured such a troubling pregnancy, that it would not be in vain. That this babe in her hands would carry the gift of Freya to heal the wounds of others and with that Inkerri named her daughter from the sunstones used on their voyage, Celestia. The first years of Celestia’s life were nothing more than being a living doll to her older sister of four years, Genevieve. The two are tangled with the love and protectiveness of one another. Wherever one shall be the other will surely follow. Celestia grew a habit of always being by her sister’s side after being raised by her. She is silent and mindful, duplicate visage of her mother with her father's grey eyes. legitimatized by her father she was brought up in a royal catholic household, but she like her sister are truly Norse, Ásatrú. Celestia was loved more than most bastard children. Even though he loved her, Æthelwulf was more preoccupied with conquering and his legitimate sons. This gave her the freedom to learn along the side of her sister. With the stories her mother gave every night about being a gift of Freya’s healing hands, her focus was predominately to follow the path of medicine. This was taught directly under the head alchemist of the apothecary, who was the leading physician of the royal castle. Celestia coupled her royal education with tutelage from her mother's brother, Floki, a great healer of their war band and a famed ship maker. When Genevieve married Prince Vaefar of West Francia, Duke of Normandy the sisters were destined for a new home in Francia. Celestia never liked the man Genevieve wedded. Upon first glance, she knew he was a snake in human flesh. Shortly following their marriage were his tantrums and rage. Then came the actions towards her sister that would be his undoing. Normandy was embroiled in war with the Vikings of her mother's homeland, who managed to overtake Vaefar I, now king of West Francia. When the Vikings took the castle in Normandy, Genevieve and Celestia made haste to Château d'Ombrage to meet with Genieve’s sister-in-law, Alysanne. Because of their presence in the castle during the turn of the tide, Vaefar's mother, Queen Hildegarde, suspects them of treason.

| ____________________________ Demographics____________________________ Name: Cecily of Aquitaine Sex: Female Age: 20 Culture: Occitan Ethnicity: Pictish-Gael - Occitan Primary Title: Lady (Daughter of a Duke) Style:"My Lady/The Lady Celestia" Occupation: Surintendante for Queen Alysanne House: Noble House of Aquitaine Religion: Catholicism Location: Château d'Ombrage, Champagne, West Francia Sexuality: Heterosexual Spouse: N/A Lover(s): N/A Father: Guiscard, Duke of Aquitaine Mother: Princess Katreine of Scotland, Duchess consort of Aquitaine Siblings: Two brothers and one sister. Issue: No children due to no marriage nor scandal____________________________
Stats ____________________________ Height: 5'5" Weight: 120 lb Eye Color: Ice Blue-Grey Hair Color: Raven Black Dominant Hand: Right Distinguishing Features: Piercing eyes and a narrow waist Scar(s): None notable enough to bare mentioning Piercing(s): Ears Education Focus: Diplomacy Positive Traits: Organized | Beautiful | Diligent | Curious Negative Traits: Bossy | Impatient | Ambitious | Lustful ____________________________
Appearance and Character ____________________________ Many claim that Cecily of Aquitaine is what her father, Guiscard, would look like if he were born as a maiden, for he is a handsome man and has managed to craft handsome children. Her hair falls down to her mid-back in natural coils, black as the darkest night, with skin that shines in contrast due to its alabaster hue. Her own eyes mirror that of her father's, a striking blend of blue and grey with a thick outer rim of black. She has a soft nose with a defined jawline, plump lips, and naturally arched brows that oftentimes get her in trouble for appearing too aggressive ( even though her face is but relaxed!). What she did manage to inherit from her mother Katreine is her shorter stature of five foot five inches and often acknowledged cinched waist. To her mother's relief, Cecily maintains a rather organized and diligent persona. It is rare to see her out of sorts, as she prefers to keep things orderly, especially due to being her cousin's Mistress of the Robes. The constant acts of being a busybody allows her to venture and keeps her mind from straying too far into territories most unbefitting of a lady. Given her impatient demeanor, however, it is not uncommon to see her checking in on the state of affairs throughout events or awaited demands. While she has done considerably well in keeping her tolerance and irritability in check, it still slips in now and again, at least mentally, and may cause her to close her eyes, count to ten, and then proceed onto the next order of things. She is still considered young and carefree, which is most likely why her father has instructed her to stay at the Château and enhance her skills, and why she has not yet been wed off even though the required age is 18. He believes it will engrain a proper sense of what it means to be a member of a high-born family and what is expected of a wife. Cecily has been bold before in trying to object to these harsh realities, thus having caused some rather uncomfortable conflicts, but perhaps the opinionated and ambitious girl will find her place alongside Queen Alysanne and the royalties of women. ____________________________
Character Biography ____________________________ Nobility is often seemingly tied, in some level, to one another through blood. Cecily of Aquitaine was no different. Her mother, Katreine, is the youngest child in the Royal line reigning over Scotland and had been arranged to the hand of Guiscard, an Occitan in line to be Duke. The family hails from old influence and the union was celebrated with fine wine and laughter. From there, Katreine gave her husband two sons and two daughters, with Cecily being the youngest. Growing up the girl was treated like many an eventual Lady. Acts of etiquette, lessons in Diplomacy, and recognition of the arts. Cecily pressed her studies into a wider range, and would often be seen otherwise distracted from her typical studies, sliding through the fingers of her tutors only to be chased down the green fields. She loved the freedom of the wind in her hair and the lack of expectations weighing down her shoulders. To jump in muddy puddles, catch frogs at the nearby lake, and then lose herself in the imaginative delights of her doll's. Well, it was a treasure, and one that allows her to think fondly upon her childhood. The Duke had been far less strict during her youth, instead opting her allowance into playing through her energy, but upon her fourteenth year there did he put his foot down and demanded structure that followed tradition. As the girl watched her siblings get married off and her eldest brother taking on the responsibilities of the household name, Cecily was quickly using her need to be busy and entertained into pushing for work and adventure. The teachings had done her well, yet not enough to quell her wonton daydreams of frolicking and loving on her own desires. As her mother aimed to find her a suitable match, the Duke of Aquitaine paused such proceedings, believing she needed more instruction and guidance regarding her role in life. This is where her placement to the Dowager Queen's estates was put in motion, and it is here she stands as the current Surintendante for her cousin, Queen Alysanne. Her duties set in stone while her father aims to arrive during a later time to not just check in, but may have news regarding her future betrothed. Something that instills great anxiety in her core. |

Appearance and Character ____________________________ A siren in the flesh, Lucrezia d’Touraine is a stunning young woman in her early twenties. She has fair skin, blue eyes, long golden hair, and a pear-shaped figure with small breasts and lushly rounded hips. Not one to shy from attention, she accentuates these features with tightly laced clothing and perilously low necklines dancing upon the line of appropriate or not. She makes use of creams and oils to keep her skin baby-soft and youthful, as well as avoiding direct-sunlight as much as possible. In order to remain trim and firm, she rides horses and walks daily, though her small stature and overall appetite keep her from intaking too much. Besides French, she speaks Occitan, Italian, and Latin. Lucrezia speaks French with the famously "pure" Touraine accent, making her very easy to understand. Furthermore, she is a master at the arts of conversation and seduction, able to read even the blankest of canvases for emotional reaction or charge and steer the dialogue in the direction of her choosing. Aware of the effect she has on others she uses her wiles to get what she wants from them and is not above utilizing her body to further these advances. Each encounter is treated as though it were special and above all others, or at least this is how she manages to be perceived—very French. Given women’s role in society and the assumed superiority of men, she maintains her image and appearances as a good Christian woman, never missing a mass or confession and often even kneeling before her prie-dieu when in private to spin her rosary beads. Though her devotion may be questionable in certain areas, few would dare to accuse her otherwise given she has blood-ties with the Vatican itself, for her mother is the older sister of Pope John XII from the powerful Tusculum family in Rome. ____________________________
Character Biography ____________________________ During the early tenth century the Duke of Berry sought to establish better relations with the papacy as a safeguard against his liege, the king of West Francia. Therefore, he arranged for his son and heir, Renaud Comte de Touraine to marry into the notoriously powerful Tusculum family in Rome, who held a firm grasp upon the Bishops of Rome and thus the Christian world as a whole. A match was agreed upon between Renaud and Pia of Tusculum, who were of an age with one another, and the two were wed in 933. Less than a year later they welcomed the birth of a daughter, born prematurely and small but otherwise in good health, naming her Lucrezia for the new comtesse’s mother, Lucrezia de 'Medici. Other children were born of the couple in successive years, though only Lucrezia survived into adulthood. Like her mother, the lady was educated with a primary focus in intrigue, as it was often the woman’s place in an Italian household to keep abreast of all the ongoings of the estate and among the servants/vassals while the men focused on stewardship and banking pursuits. She also mirrored Pia’s interest in herbalism, taking up the hobby at a young age and documenting what she learned or discovered on her own in journals—particularly poisons or those with psychedelic properties. Rumor has it she poisoned her own brothers, Jacques and François, in order to supplant them in the line of succession to their father and grandfather’s titles. It was widely expected that Lucretia would be married into the royal family of West Francia, by way of either Dietrich or Vaefar; however, both matches were overlooked in favor of royal brides, which House Touraine viewed as a snub. When her maternal uncle ascended to the papacy as John XII offers came for Queen Mother Hildegarde’s children by her second marriage but were disregarded citing that other matches were being considered already. Following the death of her father she succeeded to the county of Touraine at the age of fourteen, which was governed by her grandfather the Duke until he too passed away three years later. Her mother was regent for a year, given Lucrezia was seventeen, and handed over the reigns of government upon her eighteenth birthday. Lucrezia traveled to Paris to swear her fealty to King Dietrich IV after coming into her estate and assuming full power there. Though she plays an active role in the governance of the duchy, she delegates areas in which she is lacking to those with professional backgrounds in such, compensating them well for effectiveness and discretion. While her current councilors have been in place for a solid year and a half, their predecessors served much shorter tenures, yet another rumor alleges she had them poisoned or murdered until she found ones that better suited her purposes and could keep their mouths shut regarding her personal lives. One specific instance involved a marshal claiming that she had borne a bastard child to either the king or some non-specific noble. The account could never be verified because the man was found dead, foaming at the mouth, supposedly having been possessed. In more recent times she received orders from the crown to send aide to the region of Normandy, which was under attack by foreign invaders. While she complied and agreed to do so, she made certain that the bulk of those selected were those of mediocre performance during training or those with connections to her enemies at the court in Bourges (capital of Berry). Any losses were attributed to the duke/king Vaefar and his bereaved wife, Genevieve of Wessex, though such rhetoric is said to have originated in the brothels and convents—both of which are under the patronage of the duchess of Berry. |
