Appearance and Character
____________________________
Standing at a tall height of a flat 6’, Fargrim sports a lean and slightly muscular body due to living an active lifestyle. When his golden hair isn’t tied up or braided, it lays beautifully upon his broad set shoulders. As Vikingr custom, makeup is quite normal within their society, and Fargrim is usually wearing some sort of eyeliner, but it is often smeared as he forgets it is on until it is too late. As for his wardrobe, he prefers earthen colors like tan, green, and cream. Because of his stature he is able to afford more expensive clothing, like imported clothing from exotic parts of the world like Italy, and North Africa. Fargrim’s favorite article of clothing is fur as it finds it quite comfortable, and he is usually seen wearing a pure white arctic fox’s fur draped upon his shoulders and neck with a light gray cloak as accompanying warmth.

Character Biography
____________________________
Fargrim entered this world when the leaves of the isle of England began to turn their colors. Where he was born exactly was inside of a carriage departing York to a nearby estate. Alongside Fargrim was his brother Bjorn, but his brother soon succumbed to Sudden Infant Death Syndrome in the days that followed. Fargrim was one of many sons and daughters of his father, Thorbjorn Sigmundsson, approximately four siblings at the time of his arrival and ten after himself. His mother, Ingrid, was hailed by the locals as being blessed by Freyr herself, the Goddess of Fertility. To Fargrim’s dismay, he did not think the same, and in fact, felt less valuable being surrounded by his numerous siblings, despite their high ego’s attempting to reassure Fargrim they were blessed by the gods themselves to be able to walk the lands.
Besides feeling like another leaf on a tree, Fargrim had and still maintains a lively relationship with his family, most of which were his best friends from day one. His family held a sort of hierarchy of guidance and power. His older siblings did their best to lead the younger ones on the right path with his parents being the overseers. Each of Fargrim’s siblings took on different roles and skills, so he himself was bound to take his own path with the support of his peers. Fargrim steadily fit into a role of diplomacy. His parents intended for him to be an emissary or diplomat or sorts, but Fargrim used this as an opportunity to hone his social skills and charm to be unmatched by all others. As was the tradition of both men and women in his family, Fargrim received formal training in the art of swordsmanship, often sparring with his siblings and royal tutors. He never excelled in this area as his more competitive siblings of similar age would get the better of him, but he was no fool with a blade at the end of the day. As physical evidence of his training, Fargrim bears a long thin scar upon the side of his neck, where a dull blade sliced into when he was sparring on serious terms.
As the young royal reached a maturing age of sixteen, he began to dive deep into his studies in the art of negotiation, diplomacy, conversation, history, politics, and language. Fargrim was overwhelmed at first at the amount he had to take in, but soon became accustomed to his role, as his father had plans for him later on in life to take on larger responsibilities. The boy would come to learn a great many things about life, contemporary society, and his place in the world amidst power hungry kings, even including his father to which he realized later on in life in his early adulthood. Fargrim’s main language was Norse, secondary, Old English, and tertiary (with the least amount of skill in), Frankish.
By the time Fargrim was twenty, he was settling into his role as emissary for Northumbria, speaking to different neighboring countries on matters of trade, borders, and other matters. Also during this time his libido was reaching all time highs, and he lustfully began to sleep with local noblewomen, even Saxon ladies of court (thanks to his learned/natural charisma and looks), but the two children he regretfully did bear were with lowborn women, and thankfully did not tarnish the reputation of the ladies he was laying with. Later on and unfortunately, and to his shock, Fargrim’s two eldest brothers would be brutally assassinated, but the perpetrators would not be found. Thorbjorn would swear it was Mercia, their Saxon neighbor that they had tense relations with, but Fargrim personally thought it was Skotlond. The young man’s life would shift into a new motion, as he was now the eldest man in the entire family, thus he now carried the title of Jǫfurr, or prince. Though he was now the next-in-line heir, Fargrim soon relinquished his princely inheritance and sought to stake his own claim within Normandy without Northumbrian consent. Though he chose to go out on his own because of his burning ambition, his ties with his family still remain and are healthy.
Once he heard of the invasion of The Duchy of Normandy, Fargrim quickly assembled those loyal to him and his family, and he also relied on asking a few of his Lordly acquaintances for men and women to aid him in the coming battle, making a guarantee that a portion of the spoils of war would go to them as thanks. Once Fargrim and his entourage joined the invading party, they successfully conducted joint attacks on the nearby settlements leading up to the capital of Normandy, Castle Rouen. To the invading Viking's dismay, the Frankish defenders held out much longer than anticipated, and disease was starting to run rampant within the siege camps. Fargrim himself stepped up the plate and became the negotiator and spoke to the Frankish defenders on numerous occasions throughout the winter months in hope to arrange some sort of conclusion that would benefit his side, whether it be a vast amount of silver and gold to persuade everyone to disengage, or the Frankish surrender. Fargrim focused heavily on the latter, as he wanted the long-term reward, the land, not the short-lived silver. With no proper siege equipment to scale the walls or destroy them, Fargrim resulted in making up things to scare the inhabitants into surrendering, such as claiming they had reinforcements twice the size of their army on the way, executing all prisoners, torching and salting the farmlands, etc. Eventually to Fargrim's surprise, he got word of an insider informant and traitor, but who they were remained a mystery. Capitalizing on this along with his fellow Viking leaders, there was a last ditch effort to break into the castle gates, with a small party of Berserkers gaining entry via a hidden passageway and at last opening the gates for everyone to storm in.
The result of the unexpected help led to a clash amongst the Viking warband leaders, as no clear man nor woman led the leading charge or devised a plan that led to the direct capture of the fortress. Fargrim sought an opportunity to tip the scales in his favor as he wanted Normandy for himself, or at least a part of it, so he traveled to Le Château d'Ombrage to speak with French nobility.
