During the reign of Ragnar the Second and his wife, Thyri, the Titanbane prospered in
the valley beyond the Black River, but the fury of the goddess Nemain was not forgotten.
Once Ragnar the First rejoined his fellow gods in the Tuath Dé, Nemain was reminded
of her hatred of the child. She was commanded by Danu to set aside her war with the god
who'd fought his way back to the pantheon, and so set her sights on the legacy he'd left in
the world.

Nemain set giants, trolls, and other monsters after the clan but they were pushed back. She
soon struck a deal with warlock who would rid the valley of the Titanbane, fearing they would
become involved in his plot to overthrow a city on the boarders of Aquilonia, with which the
Titanbane had good relations. Nemain gave the warlock the power to turn the clan to stone.

Macha, the goddess of the Morrigan that had originally given the Titnbane life, was able to
protect Ragnar the Second and Thyri's daughter, with the sacrifice of their lives for her own.
Now the girl, disoriented, and with only the vague voice of the goddess to guide her, has
taken her father's sword and set out to find a way to undo this curse.

Eve was born in New Jersey, but grew up in Texas. Her parents divorced after the death of her twin when she was ten. Her father had always been garbage in her eyes, but it took his callous indifference to the death of their child for her mother to wise up. It left Eve as the man of the house and she and her mother have a very close relationship.

She was always a lover of animals and many, many animals from birds to dogs to mice have been her pets over the years. However, the giant dog that is permanently attached to her hip, was her first actual animal purchase. Offhandedly walking into a pet store and seeing the lanky pup in a display box, Eve fell in love. The feeling was mutual. He's a good dog, who stands a little over six foot on two legs, is heavily muscled and fiercely protective. He may also be a little jealous and possessive, but we can't all be perfect.

Eve has been doing gymnastics and dance since she was a child. She has a love for both but despised the unhealthy practices and demands on the body, so never pursued them past her own need to be active. Her love for animals drove her into the veterinary field and it was in college that she met her best friend, Aliza. She and Aliza are known for being magnets for trouble.

The daughter of a very prominent Dominus, Octavia has a lavish and
comfortable life, financially. However, she is constantly at odds with her
parents, particularly her father, who can't forgive her for not being a boy
even though he was soon blessed with two. Quintis houses a specific slave
just to administer beatings to his daughter when his hand is tired or he is
busy. Much to his displeasure, they haven't seemed to stop her rebellion.

That aside, Octavia is well educated and enjoys many trips and the rewards of
nobility. While her younger brothers are surely the spawn of Krae, himself,
they are kind to her. The siblings enjoy each other's company, but she
wouldn't trust them as far as she could throw them.

The greatest gift of being the daughter of a Dominius is the free reign of
the gladiators. Because Octavia is kind to all of the slaves in her service,
including the gladiators, they have opened up to her. Some of them allow
her to "train" with them and she often tends to their wounds and sees them
fed and cared for, even when they are to be punished for whatever infraction.
Because of this, she has some combat training, though she isn't very hopeful on
how that training would serve her in a dire situation, since she believes not
only do the gladiators hold back, but they don't take any of it seriously enough
to show her anything useful.

Regardless, Octavia has other weapons in her arsenal. She is a fast reader and
good with numbers. She has a natural charm and strong stomach for violence
which makes her dangerous in her own rite. She also has some sway over her
demonic brothers and you do not want those hellhouds on your trail.


B A C K G R O U N D

The first born child of a successful Dominus and his wife, Octavia was a
treasured commodity despite being a girl, but that quickly dissipated.
Her father, Quintis was already displeased with having a daughter before
a son and when the child started to develop her own personality, she
quickly became a royal pain in his backside.

Octavia was born just as Quintis began his shift from slaver to Dominus.
She was birthed in his newest villa following the first batch of gladiators
her father bought to aid in his shift. So she has never known a life where
massive hulking creatures or men weren't in her house, or a time when the
sounds of training didn't fill the air around her. There was never a time when
her life wasn't filled with lavish parties and the exploitation of the men who
fought for her father. Her father believed that winning wasn't only in the
arena but winning favor of the nobles above him also tilted his favor with the
gods thereby tilting his favor in his selection of specimens and victories in
the ring.

In his rise, Quintis made many powerful friends and equal enemies. His
impression on the games, gives him the eye of the Emperor but never
the friendship he so pines for, however, his daughter counts Cassia Illythia
Avictus amongst her closest friends. Sharing a year of birth and a similar
noble home life, they have been thick as thieves since their first meeting.
Octavia's often outlandish behavior has put watchful eyes on their
interactions, though. This has yet to keep the girls from occasionally finding
a chink in the chain large enough to escape though, leading them to many
small adventures in the towns and villages of the less fortunate.

Pre Siren Life: Even though she doesn't remember any of this, it's good to know. XD
In 1795, the would be siren was born Nanouk Le Bleu, the daughter of a wealthy Frenchman
and his Native American wife. She fell in love with a young banker during the height of
Westward expansion and he had no interest in following Manifest Destiny to the western side
of the country, truth is, neither did Nanouk. Her desire was to live more freely and discover
her mother's roots. Forced to chose between a comfortable life and the unknown, Nanouk
chose the unknown, even though it tore her heart from her chest. Her travels were hard and
before she could even cross the boarder into Texas she was ambushed and raped, thrown into
the Gulf of Mexico.

Siren Life: With little memory of how or why she made the transaction, Nanouk took to her life
as a Siren rather easily. The all encompassing loneliness that drove others to become human
again was muted by her unexplained rage at the human race. Alone and nameless, she wandered
the seas, always taking to warmer climates. While lounging around Greece, she heard many stories
of Undines, nymphs, and mermaids. After secretly attending the ballet Ondine, that took place in the
open amphitheater near the ocean, she chose the name Ondine for herself. A few years later, she and
another rather angry siren would spend some time as side-show attractions before fleeing back to the
ocean when the act attempted to expand to the Americas.

While vacationing in the south of India, a young man caught the eye of the Goddess Kali-Ma.
Kali-Ma, according to the locals, is the goddess of time, creation, preservation and destruction.
She is described as "the hungry earth, which devours its own children and fattens on their
corpses". The god Vishnu described her as the "maternal cause of all change, manifestation and
destruction. The whole universe rests upon her, rises out of her and melts into her. From her
crystallized the original elements and qualities which construct the apparent world. She is both
mother and grave… The gods themselves are merely constructs out of her maternal substance,
which is both consciousness and potential joy." She is the manifestation of Earth. Thus, even though
The Mist has separated pantheons for centuries, it could not severe the bond of what each pantheon
depicts as Earth. Called Gaia in many texts, Kali-Ma was subdued into sleep as well. However because
she has a manifested form, her sleep is not quite as deep, leaving shadows of herself, projections,
which carry out her will. This was true for the young man on the beach.

Fascinated by the beauty and strength of the man, Kali-Ma decided to take him as a consort. Drowsy
though she was, there was enough lucidity in that moment to manifest a beautiful visage of an Indian
woman to catch his eye. They shared his time on the beach and on his last evening before returning to
his native home, Kali-Ma took him into the jungle beyond the beach and lay with him. They made love
until the man was spent and then the visage of the woman faded into the Earth once more. As the man
slumbered, Kali-Ma brought forth the fruit of her time with the consort – wrapped in fig leaves a child was
ushered up through the Earth, her cry waking the man. Knowing that no one would believe the wild tale of
the woman and then appearance of the child and with a heavy feeling of dread should he abandon the babe,
he took her home. He called her Eve and raised her as his own; unbeknownst to him she was.

As a child of Kali-Ma, Eve's life has been full of strife and occurrences she could not explain to anyone. She has
been tested time and again by her own mother, who seeks to strengthen the child for the coming war. She has
been nearly killed by the forces of other gods that would weaken her mother by killing her champion. Though,
as a child of Kali-Ma, despite wielding only one power, she is incredibly powerful. After some convincing, for her
thirteenth birthday, Eve and her father returned to the south of India where she was found. In the middle of the
night, the girl was coaxed out of her bed and led to the exact spot where she had risen from the bosom of her
mother. There Kali-Ma claimed her and revealed the truth about her origins.

Adelaide Trudeau grew up as a house slave to a wealthy plantation owner. She, the same age as their eldest son, found that son in the throes of his own hand and that passion quickly turned to the exploration of her body. Of course, their relationship could never be more than secret tryst and so he was married to the beautiful and wealthy, Rosanna Compton. His secret affair with Adelaide did not stop. In fact, it collided with his high society life in the most undeniable way; his wife and his lover became pregnant at the same time.

Rosanna had allowed her husband his little affair so long as it didn't interfere with her life but a bastard baby would do just that. So when she found out Adelaide was pregnant as well, she ordered the slave to have it aborted. Adelaide looked to her lover to save their child but he shifted meekly to the side of his worldly wedded wife. Enraged, Adelaide took to her voodoo lineage and tied the unborn together, binding them by life force. She even allowed Johnathan Winnick to bring in the doctor and begin the abortion before telling him that to lose one child meant losing the other.

Horrified, Johnathan knew he had no choice but raise both girls. He managed to convince his wife to raise them as equals, but she barely control her contempt and when it couldn't hold any longer she tried to kill Delphine only to find the secret her husband had held from her for so long. In her grief and rage, she threw Adelaide out of the house to prevent her from saving her daughter and sought the help of a reputable but pretentious witch. With promises of a cure to the poison and the curse, Rosanna brought home an elixir and failed in her mission. The knowledgeless witch had sold the woman a potion and a spell that conjured Papa Legba, the dealmaker of Voodoo.

Instead of granting her wish to unbind the twins were happy in their linkage, Papa Legba ignore the woman that called him and set his sights on those he was called for. In exchange for greater power and life immortal, the girls agreed to house the souls of his twin sons, demons of his own making. And for her attempt to undo the power of his children's craft, Papa also took the unborn baby from the womb of the woman who called him.

The twins, both demon and priestess, thrived on one another.

• Kali: Skiddish, demur and obedient, she takes most of
her direction from "The Guardian" and some of it from
"The Entity". She's constantly looking over her shoulder
and fears her brothers and sisters of the commune will
be coming for her soon. Crowds both fascinate and terrify her.
• The Entity: Whether it's a man or woman depends on it's
mood, though it's quickly learned that posing as a woman
makes it's life much easier. When in control The Entity rowdy,
promiscuous, and Machiavellian in it's schemes. It craves chaos.
The Entity shows itself by rolling Kaliona's eyes to the back of
her head, and often echo's it's "true" voice over Kali's.
• The Guardian: A gentle entity in the form of a woman in white
with long flowing white hair, has been watching over Ona since
she was two. The Guardian has never given itself a name, whether
it be because it can't remember or thinks a name is unimportant,
Kali doesn't know, so she calls the woman The Guardian. Her
commands come as a whisper on a breeze and she only appears
visible to those with a gift similar to Kali's. Though her intentions
seem benevolent, her true reasons have never been stated.

From the hill just before the fence of the commune property you could see the lights of the city of Reno, flickering like fireflies over the desert. Moses always preached of freedom yet they were fenced in. He preached acceptance and yet he scorned and shunned the outsiders. The people of the commune thought Moses was the savior. They believed he could lead them to the light, but there were no lights around the commune, in the patch of sky stretched over it was void of stars. The lights were beyond the commune, flickering over a city of sin and beyond.

Whether she'd been born in the commune or not, Kaliona didn't know. All she knew is that this was all she knew; pain, humiliation, rituals. None of that stopped the dreams of something more, something else. In fact her dreams started when she was very young and so did the whispers and the phantoms. For as long as she could remember, Kali could see the willowy wisps of souls that still clung to this reality. She could hear the sometimes malice voices of those from the realm next door (unfortunately not fairies).

The moment Moses realized she could see and communicate with spirits, he declared that The One had been born to them. Kaliona was separated from her brothers and sisters of the commune and forced to exercise her ability. She was a center piece for many rituals. A woman in the commune, known only as Mama, had what she called "open ears", but lacked the ability to allow spirits into her body and therefore summoned them to possess the little girl.

By the time, Kaliona was 8, Moses and Mama had decided what the ultimate goal of their summonings would be, but it would be two years before they could perform the ritual. First, they had to break the girl. Make her fully susceptible to possession. They did not know that The Guardian had always been with her. Even though Leah was softened, even became pliable from each method of their madness, the The Guardian worked to keep her as strong and sane as possible.

When Kali was 10, the commune performed the ritual to summon a demon and give the thing her body. As the demon tried to corrupt Ona's body and manipulate her genetic make-up, her ears pointed like an elf, her deep brown eyes faded to an almost transparent green, and her dread brown hair went almost blonde in places. Within her, The Guardian and The Entity fought for dominance. The Guardian was able to stop the demon's transformation for the time being but was eventually pushed out of Kaliona.

The Entity murdered several of the commune members that night and demanded freedom to take any member it wanted at any time -- The fanatics readily agreed, but The Entity soon grew bored of them and craved the thrill of the hunt and the stir of chaos. Though still in constant battle with The Guardian, The Entity managed to gain control for almost six months.

And so one night, Kaliona woke up in a strange motel with a man hanging from the ceiling fan by his own belt, pants around his ankles, the words "Willing Participant" scratched into his chest.

There are flashes in the dark, shuffling and scrambling, outside of the room where Daciana and Damon are huddled against the far wall of the hall closet. When it's all over, sunlight streams under the door and neither child recalls falling asleep. The flecks of light become a warped tunnel of gold haloing behind a dark figure that reaches into the recess of the hall closet and snatches Daci and Damon into the wreckage of the house. Refusing to let go, Daci holds her brother to her side as they are escorted through the debris. Their parents are gone and the trails of blood along the once polished floors say they didn't go peacefully. There are blood splatters in other places, framed in hall mirrors, along the banister, against the doorframe and printed on so many surfaces. Later, after obsessive reviewing of the crime scene photos, she would understand more of how they got there and a little of what it meant; so many things remaining a mystery.

At seven years old, Daciana didn't know what to expect from the system but she was well aware that how she and her brother were pushed around was not good. After being found in the closet, they were not taken to the hospital. Instead, they spent three nights in a crowded, loud precinct with a constant stream of villainous looking individuals passing by them. After that, they were taken by CPS. This was the first time they were asked how they felt about their experiences in the office of a very stern looking physiatrist, who only nodded and mumbled, and began very annoyed when the children didn't give clear, concise answers.

After two weeks in a group home, the pair were added to an already bulging foster home. Though the mother of the brood seemed to have the best intentions, she was naïve and dominated by her husband. The siblings made it nearly three months before some of the older boys decided Damon was the perfect cover for their newest operation. When the younger boy refused, an older one pulled a knife. Daci had come into the room just in time to see the boy draw blood from her little brother's jaw and a fight ensued. She was stabbed in the ribs and shipped off to the hospital. The only time anyone came to visit her is when the mother came to tell her she would not be returning to the house. Not wanting to be separated from her brother, Daci snuck out of the hospital and headed back to the house to get him, but the father snatched her up and took her to one of his friends.

For the next ten years, Daciana was passed around. A few times she managed to land herself back in the system with the intent to look for her brother but it wasn't until she was fifteen that she was able to find him. Standing in front of the looming mansion, she knew it would be hard to convince anyone to let her in but it never came to that. The man of the house, much like when she was seven, snatched her up by her collar and drove her across town, but not before she was able to see her brother in the window of the house. The man told her never to return and left her in the hands of a perverted priest. Two years later, she tried again, nearly encountering her brother at one of his sports events but was pulled away once more. This time, the father was forced to make a deal for her silence.

Telekinesis: She is able to move objects without the use of physical touch.

She is first seen making two toy faeries made of sticks swirl in the air. Later as an adult, she is able to lift several fully grown men in armor, making them levitate and swing back and forth in the air before pushing them together and then cascading them about.

Elemental Control: Maleficent is able to conjure and make use of various elements.

Aerokinesis: She can summon and manipulate wind for various effects. She used this ability to announce her arrival at Aurora's christening.

Atmokinesis: She can summon weather-like effects as when she pranked the 3 faeries by creating a downpour inside their hut.

Geokinesis: When walking back to the moors in anger, she was walking through a passage with walls of rock that began to dismantle as she walked by.

Chlorokinesis: She can manipulate plant life in various ways. She is first seen being able to heal branches and trees that have broken or been cut. She used this power to save a toddler Aurora who ran off of a cliff by making large, exposed roots on the underside of the cliff catch her and bring her back up to safety. Maleficent has also used this power to create bridges with roots, decorate Ulstead for Aurora's and Philip's wedding, create a throne for herself, and summon her iconic Forest of Thorns when isolating the moors.

Pyrokinesis: As a phoenix, Maleficent destroyed an entire tower of the Ulstead castle with a single fire blast from her wing.

Transfiguration: She can cause other creatures and objects to change their shape and form. She does this most often with Diaval, causing him to take on many shapes including: human, horse, wolf, and dragon, and often only with a single command and/or hand gesture. She also used this ability on Queen Ingrid, turning her into a goat. It should be noted that Diaval, whose true form is a crow, always retains some element or accent of his original form after being transformed; a beak, feathers/plumage, talons, etc. After losing her wings, Maleficent grabs a nearby twig and transforms it into a jeweled staff. Upon her death at the hands of Queen Ingrid, Maleficent takes on the form of the phoenix.

Energy Manipulation/Projection: Unlike other dark fae, Maleficent can unleash her magic as raw force such as when finding out the reason behind Stefan's betrayal, releasing a pilar of green energy which pierced the sky and cause clouds to swirl. At the failed dinner at Ulstead, Maleficent blasted away several guards who attempted to attack her with ease. Later at the battle of Ulstead, Maleficent released her magic in a fire-like form to blast groups of soldiers.

Self-Resurrection: Due to her phoenix lineage, upon being killed by Queen Ingrith, Maleficent's true power awakened and she rose back to life as a great phoenix.

Healing: After her death and resurrection, Maleficent displayed the ability to heal injuries as when she caused Aurora's facial scratches to vanish with a finger wave.

Spell Casting: Like other fae, Maleficent is able to cast spells.

Sleep Inducement: Maleficent is able to cause people to instantly fall asleep. She did this often with Aurora and once with Prince Philip. This is undone with a simple flick of the wrist. As part of this enchantment, Aurora and Philip would float in an almost water-like stasis until they and Maleficent reached their destination.

Cursing/Curse Breaking: Our only time seeing this ability is when she casts her iconic sleeping curse on an infant Aurora at her christening. Every word that Maleficent includes in her declaration becomes part of the spell's reality. This proves a problem for Maleficent when she tries to break her own curse after warming up to Aurora as a teenager. Because Maleficent declared "No power on Earth can change it!" in her spell, not even she herself was able to revoke the curse and it had to play out. It should be noted that her curse became imbued in the spindle that was present at Aurora's christening as it reconstructed itself so she could prick her finger and it was later used by Queen Ingrid to curse her husband, the King.

Destruction: After her resurrection, Maleficent was finally able to destroy the spindle that was imbued by her previously unbreakable curse, causing it to dissolve to ash.

Telepathy/Clairvoyance: Maleficent possesses the ability to read minds and sense the presence of others, as well as project and broadcast thoughts into others.

Hypnosis: Maleficent possesses the ability to manipulate the minds of others.

Teleportation: Maleficent can teleport herself and others

Superhuman Strength: Maleficent was shown to possess physical strength far greater than that of even a well-armored and seasoned warrior's, literally flooring dozens of armed soldiers when they attempted to invade the Moors and later defeating a crazed King Stefan with almost effortless ease. Additionally, she is able to lift a fully grown man with ease and tackle through an army and mortally wound King Henry with little effort.

Superhuman Durability: She is able to function normally even while badly hurt.

Accelerated Healing Factor: Maleficent can recover instantaneously from injuries, even those caused by iron - provided that she was no longer touching it. During her final confrontation with Stefan, his soldiers first trapped her in an iron net that severely weakened her, and she was barely able to remain conscious because of the pain, but once Diaval removed the net, she regained sufficient strength to stand up on her feet. Her healing factor is so potent that her amputated wings not only remained alive and healthy for sixteen years but also immediately reattached to her back when freed from their cell.

Immortality: As she is a fairie, Maleficent possesses immortality. Therefore, she's unable to wither or die by natural means, thus her aging is permanently halted when she reached maturity, retaining the youth and vitality of a woman in her prime. This was shown when she kept her youth to the present age of 50, decades after King Stefan's betrayal. As long as she isn't killed, she may be able to live forever.

Shapeshifting: Maleficent is able to willingly transform into a giant phoenix-like creature.
